Wollaton Park Engagement Photoshoot – Sam and Beth

September 30, 2023

Setting the Scene

In September, I joined Sam and Beth for a very rainy afternoon for their dreamy and romantic Wollaton Park engagement photoshoot. Although drizzly and gloomy weather is generally a photographers nightmare, it was the most perfect conditions for the type of photographs we were wanting to create. Nothing but main character energy and nods to pride and prejudice. Each photo evoking wild romance and love through movement and intimate, cinematic framing. Dreamy Wollaton Park photoshoot

The 500 acres that surround Wollaton Hall are grand, vast and picturesque. No matter where you stand in any which direction, you can almost always see the Elizabethan Mansion peeking through in the background. It really does serve as a reminder just how big the estate is. Wollaton Park gave us so many opportunities for photos and with 2 hour coverage for their shoot, we had plenty of time to leisurely explore and create a mixture of photographs.

We started the engagement shoot just in front of the car park and slowly made our way round the estate. Each time we stopped, we tried to make full use of the open spaces and quiet secluded spots within the beautiful grounds. Using a mixture of prompts and creative direction to shape the overall look of the photos, Beth and Sam were given complete freedom to play, run, jump, dance, spin and truly embody that child-like sense of wonder and fun. They even had a dance-off at one point and played hide and seek. What couple doesn’t love a bit of friendly competition?

Embracing their personalities

When working with my couples I’m all about matching your energy/vibe. Sam and Beth were so full of love and laughter, always eager to have fun. They completely threw themselves into the photoshoot! Despite expressing a nervousness to being infront of the camera, they shared so much excitement to be celebrating their engagement in such a fun and creative way. We channelled their playful, fun-loving and open-minded natures to create real moments. Making for real memories that their photos can hold and serve as a reminder each time they book back.

It was such a pleasure to work with Sam and Beth for their Wollaton Park engagement photoshoot. Nottingham favourite hotspot – and its not surprising by the sheer beauty in all areas of the park! If you’re looking at marking your engagement or even celebrating an anniversary or personal milestone with a fun and creative photoshoot then I would love to hear from you!
