Tucked away in the private, luxury Chelmsford wedding venue of Baddow Park House, saw high-school sweethearts Charlotte & Jonathan celebrating their marriage with a gorgeously planned spring wedding. Surrounded by 10 years worth of memories, friendships, stories, and family who have grown with and alongside Charlotte and Jonathan since the age of 16, all finally and excitedly coming together to celebrate a long-awaited milestone in their journey together.
Spring Wedding with a sentimental feel
Charlotte and Jonathan wanted to celebrate their wedding at Baddow Park House because the venue not only delivered the wow-factor, but felt like a home-away-from-home to accomadate their 100+ guest list. With a backdrop of beautiful architecture, wide green spaces, flowering blossom trees and the sound of a carefully curated playlist filling the spaces of the venue with their favourite music, everything about their wedding was rooted in connection and sentimentality.
Snapshot of their relaxed, joyful day
The day itself felt deeply rooted in warm connection and excitement by everyone. I started the day in the Bridal Suite with Charlotte, her bridal party and immediate family whilst they were getting ready, as Jonathan greeted guests alongside his groomsmen downstairs. After capturing the sweetest bridal details and Charlotte getting into her dress, we had time for first look with her dad and bridesmaids, all delivering wholesome reactions of pure joy and admiration. When I joined Jonathan and his party downstairs shortly after, the same emotions follow suit with his groomsmen. All bringing nothing but the highest energy, laughter and fun.
After a really touching ceremony, with emotional vows and heartfelt reactions from their families, guests made their way out to the lawn for the ringing of the bell and confetti photos. The sun graced us with it’s warmth for the remainder of the drinks reception, group photos and couple portraits. Charlotte and Jonathan ran across the lawn, jumped from tree stump to tree stump and swung on a hanging swing from an oak tree. Such spring wedding vibes, and so full of JOY!
Evening Celebrations at Baddow Park House
After the wedding breakfast, Charlotte and Jonathan took a quiet moment away from craziness of the evening that was yet to unfold, and enjoyed a cup of tea together over a quick check-in back in the bridal suite. We then captured some classic and chic portraits using the flash, leaning into that editorial vibe, whilst bringing their energy back up and ready for the first dance. Their evening reception was vibrant and alive – honestly no one left the dancefloor, unless it was to get a drink or pizza, because the music was consistently so good (big up the DJ, Jay!). Closing the night consistent of the wildest dance moves, an attempt at full group portraits and the funniest poses from their guests.
It was a truly sentimental day, felt by everyone, and one I’ll remember for a very long time.
